This article provides a comprehensive overview of thermal power plants, including their structure, working principles, main components, types, and environmental impact. It highlights the advantages and disadvantages of thermal power stations and explores modern technological approaches to increase efficiency and reduce ecological harm. Using major thermal power plants in Uzbekistan as examples, the article assesses the state of the national energy system. It emphasizes that modernization of TPPs is key.
