The article analyzes the role of the tourism sector in the world economy, its impact on exports and employment based on statistical data. The importance of statistical assessment in the development of tourism and the need to introduce approaches in this area in accordance with international standards in Uzbekistan are substantiated. Proposals are also put forward to improve tourism statistics and use innovative analysis methods. Deepening scientific and practical research in this area is an urgent task today.
