Аннотация

This research paper examines the impact of digital transformation on Uzbekistan's private sector, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. While digitalization offers new prospects for firm organization, production processes, and the administration of essential government services, it also presents significant barriers related to infrastructure development, skills availability, and investment. This study identifies the underdevelopment of digital infrastructure, underinvestment in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and a substantial digital skills gap as critical obstacles to Uzbekistan’s digital progress. The paper underscores the need for comprehensive policy interventions to promote digital skills, increase investment in digital technologies, and ensure equitable access to digital opportunities across regions and socioeconomic groups. The findings contribute to understanding the complexities of digital transformation in a transition economy and provide recommendations for policy measures to foster inclusive digital growth.
