Аннотация

The article deals with the nature of the superstring signs "oxy" (sharp accent) and "varia" (blunt stress) over the vowels in the texts of the Ambassadors‟ documents on Russian relations with Khiva and Bukhara in the 17th century. On the basis of factual material, their functional and graphical identity is shown, reflecting certain features of the Russian accent and the phenomena of living Russian language of the 17th century
