This article analyzes how national character and mentality are expressed through phraseological units used in English and Uzbek. Phraseologisms are language units that reflect the historical experience, worldview and philosophy of life of the people. Language reflects the spiritual world of each nation. Therefore, by comparing phraseologisms, valuable information is obtained about the way of thinking, values and social behavior of the people. In this regard, phraseology is the main object of research of linguoculturology. The article shows the differences in national character and mentality using the example of phraseological units on various topics (work, be smart, luck, heart, fear, courage) taken from English and Uzbek. 20 The results of the study determine how national identity is expressed through the similarities and differences in the phraseological systems of English and Uzbek.
