This article analyzes effective options for organizing cargo transportation by road. The criteria for assessing the technical and operational performance of road transport, as well as the economic and environmental aspects of the cargo transportation process are studied. The article describes the development of technical infrastructure, optimized options for the cargo transportation system and the legal framework based on the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on road transport. The study was based on the book Harald Gleissner & J.Christian Femerling: Logistics (basics – exercises – case studies) and information on the technical and operational performance of the road sector provided by www.itf-oecd.org, as well as the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cargo transportation by road transport.
