Аннотация

This article discusses the se crets of the art of translation and the requirements for a translator. Opinions of world and Uzbek scholars regarding poetic translation are analyzed. Direct and indirect translations of Shakespeare's sonnets, considered masterpieces of world literature, and their achievements and shortcomings are listed. The translations of Maqsud Shaikhzade, Yusuf Shomansur, Jamal Kamal are comparatively studied. KEYWORDS Poetic translation, image, form, style, rhyme, Naumenko, Gumilyov.
