The article examines monetarism and its development, theoretical concepts and factors influencing it, studies of classical scholars are studied and compared with modern theories. Definitions of monetarism by scientists in scientific schools, their influence on the formation and development of the economy were analyzed. Key words: economy, money, monetarism, money demand, money supply, unemployment.
