This paper aims to critically examine the role of technology in modern education, addressing both its potential and the challenges it presents.Technology in education encompasses a wide range of tools, from digital learning platforms and multimedia content to virtual classrooms and artificial intelligence-driven tutoring systems. One of the primary advantages of technology integration is its ability to cater to diverse learning styles. For instance, students who struggle with traditional teaching methods can benefit from adaptive learning technologies that offer personalized learning experiences. Moreover, technology enables access to vast amounts of information and resources, providing students with opportunities to engage with materials beyond the scope of their textbooks (Anderson & Dron, 2011). In addition, technology fosters collaboration and communication. Tools such as discussion forums, video conferencing, and collaborative workspaces allow students to interact with their peers and instructors in real-time, regardless of geographical location. This is especially important in today’s globalized world, where cross-cultural communication and collaboration are increasingly valued skills.Despite its potential benefits, the integration of technology in education faces several challenges. One of the primary obstacles is the digital divide, which refers to the unequal access to technological resources among students, particularly in underprivileged areas. Without proper access to devices or reliable internet connections, many students are unable to take full advantage of the learning opportunities that technology offers (Warschauer, 2003).Furthermore, there is a pressing need for teacher professional development. The successful integration of technology into teaching depends largely on educators’ ability to effectively use these tools.
