Аннотация

This article explores onomatopoeia, focusing on its structure, function, and role in language. Onomatopoeia refers to words that imitate natural sounds, such as "buzz," "meow," or "crash," enhancing language expressiveness. The study examines different types of onomatopoeic words, including single sound imitations and reduplicative forms like "tick-tock" or "pitter-patter." It also highlights the phonetic characteristics that make these words effective in communication. Additionally, the article explores the cultural and psychological impact of onomatopoeia, showing how these words convey emotions and sensory experiences. A comparative analysis of English and Karakalpak onomatopoeia reveals similarities and differences influenced by their phonetic systems and cultural contexts. This comparison provides insights into how sound symbolism functions across languages.
