The article analyzes current issues in the field of modern musicology and ethnomusicology. In particular, the issues of preserving traditional musical heritage, difficulties in the process of digitization, ways to increase the interest of the younger generation in national music, as well as problems in the research and educational process are discussed. The author offers solutions to existing problems based on a scientific approach and emphasizes the importance of innovative approaches in this area. The article is aimed at highlighting current issues of in-depth study of musical culture, its popularization and preservation.
