Nandrolone is an anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) that was first synthesized in the 1950s and has since become one of the most widely studied and used synthetic derivatives of testosterone. It is primarily used in clinical medicine to treat various forms of anemia, osteoporosis, and muscle-wasting diseases. However, due to its muscle-building properties, nandrolone has also gained popularity—and controversy—in the world of sports and bodybuilding. The compound remains a topic of scientific, medical, and ethical discussion in the present day.
