Аннотация
This article analyzes the methodological foundations for developing the practical competence of future professionals as an integral part of modern engineering education. It explores the essence of the concept of practical competence, the pedagogical conditions influencing its formation, educational- methodological approaches, and the role of digital technologies. Additionally, mechanisms for integrating theory and practice in engineering education are developed based on national and international experiences. The findings of the study contribute to new approaches for organizing high-quality technical education. Keywords: engineering education, practical competence, methodology, educational process, modern pedagogical approaches, digital technologies. Introduction. In the context of modern technological advancement, professionals working in engineering are expected to possess not only theoretical knowledge but also profound practical skills and competencies. Therefore, the development of practical competence among future professionals in higher engineering education is considered one of the most pressing scientific-pedagogical issues. In today’s global educational environment, the 'competency-based approach' has become a leading methodological foundation in engineering education. In particular, practical competence refers to the ability to independently and creatively perform engineering activities in real-world conditions. It includes components such as technical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making in production settings, teamwork, and the design of technological projects. The purpose of this article is to analyze the methodological foundations that contribute to the development of practical competence in modern engineering education, to examine existing approaches and digital technologies, and to propose an improved methodological model. The subject of the research is the process of forming practical competence, while the object is future professionals studying in engineering programs. The study utilizes methods such as scientific observation, pedagogical diagnostics, comparative analysis of foreign experiences, modeling, and generalization. This article aims to align the methodology for developing practical competence with modern requirements and to bring engineering 103 ACADEMIC RESEARCH IN MODERN SCIENCE International scientific-online conference education closer to global standards, thus contributing to enhanced quality and effectiveness of education. Theoretical Section. In pedagogical theory, practical competence is considered a fundamental outcome of professional education. This competence encompasses a set of knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal qualities necessary for effective professional performance. It relies not only on theoretical knowledge but also on the ability to apply that knowledge in real-world practical contexts. Research Methodology (Scientific-Methodological Approach). To develop and justify a methodology for forming practical competence among future professionals in engineering education, this study employed various pedagogical methods and approaches. Conclusion. The results of this study demonstrate that the process of forming practical competence in modern engineering education must be systematic, goal-oriented, and methodologically grounded. The proposed model integrates the didactic, methodological, technological, and assessment components of the educational process to cultivate students' ability to independently solve real engineering problems. Practical competence development encompasses not only professional knowledge but also the personal and methodological preparedness necessary for action. Interactive methods, project-based learning, fieldwork, and digital tools significantly enhance competence formation. In addition to traditional assessment methods, approaches such as reflection, portfolios, and performance-based evaluations play a crucial role in assessing practical competence.
