This article analyzes the role and importance of independent learning in the educational process. Independent reading ensures the active participation of students in the process of acquiring knowledge, developing their independent thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and creativity. The article highlights the content of independent learning, the methods of its effective organization and the importance in the educational process. The problems faced by students in the process of independent learning and ways to overcome them are also considered. It is emphasized that through independent learning, students’ interest in self-development increases and opportunities for success in life and professional activities expand. The article provides practical recommendations to teachers and students on improving the independent educational process.
