Аннотация

This article examines the main challenges of legal regulation of digital intellectual property amid rapid IT development. It highlights the features of digital assets — software, multimedia works, AI algorithms, and databases — and the associated risks of unlimited copying and distribution. The study analyzes international treaties (the Berne Convention, TRIPS Agreement) and Uzbekistan’s national legislation, as well as the potential of blockchain solutions and smart contracts for automating rights management and licensing. Special focus is given to enforcement practice in cross-border infringements and the challenges posed by “authorship” of autonomous AI systems. Directions for harmonizing traditional copyright principles with innovative technologies and international cooperation are proposed.
