Аннотация
The nuanced expressions of modality offered by modal verbs remain a notoriously persistent challenge for language learners, demanding a sophisticated understanding of both their semantic range and the intricacies of their pragmatic functions. In response to these challenges, Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) has emerged as a powerful and versatile approach, presenting a suite of innovative solutions designed to provide language learners with engaging, highly interactive, and deeply personalized learning experiences. This article delves into the potential of TEL as ameans of promoting effective modal verb usage within spoken communication, carefully examining the theoretical principles that underpin its effectiveness and showcasing a range of practical examples that demonstrate the real-world application of TEL tools and strategies. Furthermore, it offers a comprehensive analysis of the benefits and inherent challenges involved in the integration of TEL into modal verb instruction, ultimately providing actionable recommendations for educators who seek to maximize the impact of technology in their efforts to foster accurate, nuanced, andfluent modal verb production in second language (L2) learners. Introduction. The Transformative Influence of Technology on Language Education. In the unfolding narrative of 21st-century education, technology has transcended its role as a mere tool, emerging instead as a transformative force that is actively reshaping traditional paradigms of teaching and learning within the intricate domain of language acquisition. Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL), abroad and encompassing term, encompasses a diverse array of technological tools and pedagogical approaches that are meticulously designed to elevate the overall learning process, fostering deeper understanding and more effective skill development. These tools, ranging from the meticulously crafted environments of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) software to the expansive resources offered by online learning platforms, the readily accessible convenience of mobile applications, the richly textured experiences provided by multimedia resources, and the immersive potential of virtual reality environments, collectively represent a paradigm shift in the way languages are taught and learned. Within the multifaceted realm of language acquisition, modal verbs—a closed class of auxiliary verbs that serve as linguistic keystones for expressing modality, encompassing concepts such as possibility, necessity, obligation, and permission—present a significant hurdle for second language (L2) learners. Mastering these verbs necessitates not only a thorough understanding of their semantic nuances and the intricate syntactic constraints that govern their use but also a well-developed ability to deploy them appropriately and effectively across a wide spectrum of diverse communicative contexts. Traditional teaching methods, while often foundational, frequently grapple with the complexities of addressing these multifaceted challenges in a manner that fully engages and empowers learners. As such, TEL emerges as a promising and innovative avenue for surmounting these limitations, offering learners the invaluable opportunity to engage with interactive, highly personalized, and context-rich learning experiences that foster a 443 INTERNATIONAL MULTIDISCIPLINARY JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SJIF2019:5.2222020:5.5522021:5.6372022:5.4792023:6.5632024:7,805 eISSN:2394-6334 https://www.ijmrd.in/index.php/imjrd Volume12,issue03(2025) deeper unding and promote enhanced fluency in the nuanced and effective use of modal verbs within spoken communication. This article will explore the transformative potential of TEL in addressing the unique challenges inherent in modal verb acquisition and provide practical guidance for educators seeking to integrate technology strategically and thoughtfully into their instructional practices, ultimately aiming to elevate the learning experience and cultivate more proficient language users. Grounding TEL in the principles of second language acquisition. The demonstrated effectiveness of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) in the realm of second language acquisition is firmly grounded in a convergence of established theoretical principles, each contributing to a holistic understanding of how technology can be strategically leveraged to optimize the learning process.Constructivism.Fostering Active Knowledge Construction:** TEL tools possess the capacity to facilitate constructivist learning by empowering learners to actively construct their own knowledge through a dynamic process of exploration, experimentation, and collaborative interaction.
