Аннотация

The development of linguistic competence in English is a crucial aspect of modern engineering education. As globalization continues to shape the professional world, engineers must possess strong communication skills in English to interact with international colleagues, access scientific literature, and participate in global discussions. This article explores a methodology for fostering linguistic competence in English among future engineers, focusing on an integrativeapproach that combines various linguisticand disciplinary competencies. Keywords: linguistic competence, English for engineering, integrative approach, engineering education, language acquisition. In the context of globalized engineering practice, proficiency in English has become a fundamental requirement for professional success. The increasing internationalization of the engineering profession demands that engineers not only possess technical skills but also the ability to communicate effectively in English, the international lingua franca of science and technology. As a result, the development of linguistic competence in English is a critical component of modern engineering education. An integrative approach to language learning, which combines language acquisition with content-specific knowledge, offers an effective methodology for fostering linguistic competence in English among future engineers. This approach emphasizes the interaction between linguistic skills and technical subject matter, providing students with the tools they need to communicate and understand engineering concepts in English. The purpose of this article is to explore the methodologies and pedagogical strategies that can be employed to develop linguistic competence in English in engineering education through an integrative approach.English serves as the primary medium of communication in global scientific research, international conferences, and technical collaboration. Engineering students, therefore, must acquire not only basic language proficiency but also the ability to understand and use specialized vocabulary and discourse patterns specific to the field of engineering. In addition, engineers must be able to participate in cross-cultural communication, negotiate technical terms, and comprehend complex texts in English.Given this, the integration of English language learning with engineering content is essential. This enables students to develop both the linguistic and technical skills necessary for effective communication in professional engineering contexts.Methodology of Developing Linguistic Competence Based on an IntegrativeApproach 1. Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL): One of the most effective strategies for developing linguistic competence in English for engineers is the implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). This methodology involves teaching engineering content (e.g., thermodynamics, materials science, electrical circuits) through the medium of English. By doing so, students simultaneously acquire both language skills and technical knowledge, reinforcing their understanding of engineering concepts while improving their ability to communicate in English. 2. Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT): Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) is another key approach for developing linguistic competence in an engineering context. In this www.wordlyknowledge.uz ILMIYMETODIK JURNAL JOURNAL OFIQRO –ЖУРНАЛ ИҚРО –IQRO JURNALI –volume 14,issue02,2025 ISSN:2181-4341, IMPACT FACTOR( RESEARCH BIB )–7,245,SJIF–5,431 methodology, students engage in real-world tasks related to engineering, such as designing a system, writing atechnical report, orgiving apresentation onan engineering topic. 3. Project-Based Learning (PBL): Project-Based Learning (PBL) encourages students to work on long-term projects that integrate both language learning and engineering content. In this approach, students collaborate in teams, work on engineering problems, and present their findings in English. PBL fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while also improving students' abilityto communicate technical concepts effectively in English. 4. Interactive Technologies and Multimedia Tools: The use of interactive technologies, such as online simulations, videos, and language learning apps, can enhance the development of linguistic competence in engineering students. Multimedia tools allow students to engage with both the language and content in dynamic and engaging ways, promoting language acquisition and providingimmediatefeedback ontheir languageuse. 5. Vocabulary Acquisition in Engineering Contexts: For engineering students, acquiring a specialized vocabulary is crucial. Teachers can employ various methods to help students master technical terms, such as context-based vocabulary learning, word formation strategies, and the use of glossaries. Additionally, integrating vocabulary practice into engineering-related tasks ensures that students ar
