During preschool education, didactic games play an important role in the formation of children's knowledge, skills and abilities. This article considers the methodology of didactic games in preschool preparatory groups, their psychological and pedagogical significance, as well as their impact on the development of children. The article discusses the types of didactic games intended for children of different ages, methods of their organization and the role of the teacher. Recommendations are given to develop children's abilities such as logical thinking, creativity, and communication through didactic games. Materials and methods: The following materials are used to conduct didactic games in preschool preparatory groups: Didactic game sets (on topics such as mathematics, nature, language learning, art), visual materials (colorful pictures, cards, posters, diagrams), interactive materials (puzzles, constructors, lotto, dominoes), creative materials (paper, pencils, paints, adhesives) and technical means (computer, projector, audio and video materials). The following methods are used in the methods section: observation method (the behavior and level of development of children during the game are observed), practical method (giving practical tasks through games, for example, sorting shapes, distinguishing colors), conversation method (talking with children during the game, asking for their opinions), experimental method (gaining experience in mastering new knowledge through games) and group work method (dividing children into small groups and teaching them to work together). Conclusion. In preschool groups, didactic games play an important role in the development of children. Through them, children not only learn knowledge and skills, but also develop their creative, logical and social abilities. Educators play an important role in preparing children for future life by properly organizing didactic games. Didactic games not only give children knowledge, but also interest them in learning the world and teach them to think independently. Therefore, the correct organization of didactic games in preschool educational institutions and their methodologically adequate development determine the future success of children.
