This article analyzes the age-related changes in the morphological characteristics of erythrocytes. Changes in the size, shape, hemoglobin content, and membrane properties of erythrocytes are observed at different stages of life. During infancy, erythrocytes are larger, and fetal hemoglobin levels are higher, while these parameters stabilize with age. In old age, erythrocytes lose their elasticity, increasing the likelihood of anemia development. This article provides a detailed review of the age-related morphological characteristics of erythrocytes based on scientific research and statistical data.
