This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the scientific and methodological foundations of developing competencies formed in students during the teaching of natural sciences in primary grades. The study examines the effective introduction of modern pedagogical technologies into the educational process, methods for the formation and development of pupils’ practical skills based on a competency-based approach. The article discusses in detail effective teaching methods, didactic tools and their role in the educational process. It also discusses methods for arousing students’ interest in mastering subjects, forming creative thinking skills, and developing independent problem-solving skills. This scientific work contains valuable recommendations on the widespread introduction of modern approaches, increasing the efficiency of the educational process, and preparing students for practice using advanced technologies.
