The hidden economy, that is, economic activities that are not reflected in official statistics, affects the national economy in various ways. This article examines the reasons for the formation of the underground economy, its social and economic impact, as well as ways to eliminate it. By analyzing the specific characteristics of the underground economy and its negative impact on the economy, effective ways of combating it will be developed. The study examines the role of the underground economy on a global scale and in Uzbekistan, and determines future development prospects. Keywords.
