In this article, special attention is paid to the analysis of verb-nominal combinations like «zum Ausdruck bringen». On the basis of the actual language material, as well as a comparison of different points of view of linguists, the main features of verb-nominal combinations are distinguished, according to which they can be attributed to phraseological type combinations
