Аннотация
The article explores the psychological aspects of fostering motivation to study among students within modern educational systems. Motivation plays a crucial role in academic success, and understanding the psychological factors that influence it is key to effective learning. The article reviews fundamental motivation theories, such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and self-determination theory, and examines how personal characteristics, emotional factors, and psychological barriers impact students' motivation. Additionally, the influence of modern educational systems, including the integration of digital technologies and hybrid learning models, on motivation is analyzed. The study highlights various psychological and pedagogical strategies for enhancing and sustaining students' motivation, emphasizing the importance of self-regulation and a supportive learning environment. Keywords: Motivation, students, psychological aspects, educational systems, learning environment, digital technologies, self-regulation, hybrid learning, pedagogical strategies, teacher-student interaction. Motivation is a fundamental component of the educational experience, acting as the driving force behind students' engagement and success in their learning endeavors. Understanding the psychological aspects that influence motivation is crucial for educators and institutions aiming to cultivate an environment conducive to effective learning [2; 581-606]. This article explores the various dimensions of student motivation, focusing on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, goal orientation, self-regulation, social and emotional factors, fear of failure, cognitive engagement, and the influence of emotional states. At the core of student motivation lies the distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation arises from within the student, fueled by personal interests, curiosity, and a genuine desire for self-improvement. Students who are intrinsically motivated engage in learning for the joy of understanding and knowledge acquisition, often leading to deeper engagement and long-term success. Conversely, extrinsic motivation is contingent upon external factors such as grades, rewards, or societal pressures. While both types of motivation are present in educational settings, fostering intrinsic motivation 46 ACADEMIC RESEARCH IN MODERN SCIENCE International scientific-online conference is paramount, as it tends to result in a more committed and resilient approach to learning [1; 3057-3077]. Another critical psychological aspect is self-efficacy, or the belief in one’s ability to succeed. Students with high self-efficacy are more likely to take on challenges and persist in the face of difficulties. Confidence in one’s skills not only enhances motivation but also contributes to a stronger commitment to learning tasks. When students believe they are capable, they are more inclined to engage deeply with the material, seek out new challenges, and ultimately achieve greater academic success. Students’ motivation is further influenced by their goal orientation. Those who are mastery-oriented focus on learning for understanding and personal growth, whereas performance-oriented students are primarily concerned with demonstrating competence to gain approval or avoid failure. Mastery-oriented students tend to exhibit more resilient and sustainable motivation, as their drive comes from a desire for improvement rather than external validation. In contrast, performance-oriented students may face fluctuating motivation levels, dependent on the feedback and recognition they receive from others. One of the key aspects of modern educational systems is the extensive use of digital technologies. Online learning platforms, e-textbooks, and digital resources provide access to a vast amount of information and make learning more flexible. However, over-reliance on digital resources can reduce students' motivation if not supported by pedagogical interaction and emotional engagement. The transition to hybrid and distance learning models, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to changes in student motivation. On the one hand, these models offer freedom in choosing the time and pace of learning, which promotes the development of autonomy and self-regulation. On the other hand, the lack of direct contact with teachers and peers can lower motivation due to a lack of social interaction and support. Modern educational systems increasingly focus on the individual needs of students. Personalized learning programs, tailored to the students' levels of knowledge and interests, help boost motivation by making learning material more relevant and personally meaningful. Modern educational systems emphasize the development of not only academic knowledge but also key competencies (critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork). This approach enhances motivation, as students see the practical value of the knowledge and skills they acquire
