This thesis addresses the issues of comparative analysis of translated works and their original texts from a typological perspective. The focus is on the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, specifically examining the differences between the original German texts and their Uzbek translations. The research explores semantic, stylistic, and lexical changes that occur during the translation process, analyzing the linguistic and cultural disparities between the original and translated texts. By utilizing examples from Uzbek translations of Goethe’s works, the thesis evaluates the fidelity of these translations to the original texts and assesses their artistic and semantic consistency. The primary goal of the study is to uncover the challenges in translation through a comparative typological analysis and determine the artistic and aesthetic value of the translations. The creative approach and techniques employed by translators are examined in relation to the transformation of meaning and style. Moreover, the study critically analyzes how Uzbek translations adapt to the cultural and linguistic characteristics of the target language, identifying ambiguities in meaning and decisions made by translators.
