Аннотация

This article is devoted to a multifaceted analysis of incorporation as a linguistic phenomenon that has been controversial for two centuries. The author examines various points of view on the nature of incorporation, from its interpretation as a type of agglutination to its recognition as a unique phenomenon. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of linguistic economy in the development of incorporation, referring to the theories of D. A. Samarin, I. G. Koshevoy, Yu. A. Dubovsky and B. A. Serebrennikov. Analyzing the definitions of incorporation in linguistic dictionaries and encyclopedias, the author comes to the conclusion that there is no consensus regarding this phenomenon. The article emphasizes the desire of language for economy, expressed in the condensation of information, which makes incorporation one of the mechanisms for optimizing the language system.
