This article examines various aspects of literary translation based on the material of Tajik and Uzbek poetry, determines the contribution of poets-translators in strengthening the literary relationships of these peoples by introducing their compatriots to artistic masterpieces in foreign language literature, enriching their own literature with new themes, plots, images and means of artistic expression. Images. Materials on new translations of Tajik literature into Uzbek after independence are presented. It is said that Uzbek translations of the works of modern Tajik poets during the period of independence must be perceived as an important period in the development of Uzbek literary translation and one of the ways to strengthen scientific, literary and cultural ties with other cultures.
