Subject of research: history of development of book-publishing of Uzbekistan in the period from 1972 to 2011. Purpose of work: revealing of main principles and distinctive features of historical development of book - publishing in Uzbekistan from historical and cultural positions in the period from 1972 to 2011. Methods of research: historical method, scientific character, objective character, continuity, systematic character. The results obtained and their novelty: fundamental tendencies of book -publishing development in Uzbekistan in their comparative analysis of the Soviet period and the era of Independence arc elucidated from view of modem methodological positions and ideology of national renascence in the thesis. Practical value: materials and conclusions of the thesis can be used to prepare textbooks, educational supplied and fundamental monographs on history of Uzbekistan of Soviet and post - Soviet periods, and in rendering of lectures and practical seminars for students of institutes of higher education in Uzbekistan too. Degree of embed and economic effectivity: main positions of the thesis arc reflected in 5 published scientific articles. Field of application: materials of the thesis can be used to prepare textbooks, manuals, brochures on history of Uzbekistan.
