In babies with sepsis, there is a change in the quantitative and qualitative composition of the microbiota, manifested by an increase in the feces of oil and propionic acids, which indicates the activation of opportunistic flora and severe anaerobes. The displacement of the aerobic index in the region of sharply negative values and a sharp increase in the ratio of the level of iso-acids and the ratio of isovaleric acid to valeric acid, indicates an increase in the activity of aerobic microflora with proteolytic activity in the lumen of the intestine in patients with sepsis. The increase in agglomeration properties of leukocytes is associated with an increase in the content of butyric acid in the blood of patients with sepsis.
