Conducted comprehensive studies in endemic areas with the analysis of the spatial distribution of cases in relation to environmental factors and taking into account other risk factors such as socio-economic status of the community, the activities of carriers and / or CL tanks is essential to identify areas of high risk. In recent years, the widespread use of geographic information systems (GIS) for the analysis of risk factors associated with disease vectors usually used in the study of leishmaniasis in different countries.
