This article explores the complex intersections of witnessing and prefigurative politics within the context of critical suicide notes. It critically examines how narratives of suicide—often framed in personal terms—can open up broader social and political inquiries, particularly in relation to the lived experiences of marginalized individuals. Using theoretical frameworks from critical theory, post-structuralism, and prefigurative politics, the article argues that suicide notes, as both acts of personal testimony and social critique, engage with political movements of resistance and transformation. By focusing on prefigurative politics, the study illustrates how the act of witnessing and the production of alternative futures are interwoven in these notes, urging us to consider the limits of current political and social structures. Ultimately, the article suggests that engaging with suicide notes as critical political texts can contribute to the development of more inclusive, just, and empathetic political futures.
