The research objects are the transverse dams in trained channels of Amudarya and Syrdarya rivers and their tributaries. The scientific novelty of the research consists of the following: recommendations and computer program have been developed for the designing flow dimensions with the account of interdam area reclamation; the relations have been developed to determine the length of upper vortex zone and contraction area length with the account of partial reclamation of interdam floodplain area, Froude’s number, contraction degree by discharge; design method has been improved for velocity field in contraction area, in contracted section of unilaterally trained flow via system of transverse dams with the account of channel and floodplain flow interaction, partial reclamation of interdam floodplain area; method of field speed calculation and planed size of the stream in the sphere flood and recovery was elaborated by setting correct distances, installation of additional spurs between dams, on the basis of reformation of parameters for up thrust zone design sizes, spreading and recovery. Implementation of the research results. The following was achieved by the improvement of the design methods for transverse dams in rivers with unilateral floodplains: methods for calculating the length of the upper vortex zone, the lengths of the compression, spreading and restoration areas were introduced into the Amudarya river bed regulation project in the water intake area of the Karshi Trunk Chanel, performed by “Uzstatemeliorativewaterproject” (UMPW) reference of MAWMPUz certificate No. 02/30 – 161 dated March 17, 2018). As a result, it became possible to develop 400 hectares of land, at a length of 4,600 meters; upper vortex zone length design methods, contraction and spreading area length, recovery area length, up thrust size and design methods for velocity field in zones of contraction, spreading and recovery were all implemented in the project of training Amudarya river channel in the point of water intake into Karshi Main canal “Uzstatemeliorativewaterproject” (UMPW) reference of MAWMPUz certificate No. 02/30 – 161 dated March 17, 2018).
