FORMATIVE AND COMPARATIVE ANALYSES OF INTERNET TERMINOLOGY IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH

Internet terminology is a new linguistic phenomenon brought about by the quick development of digital communication. Through innovation, adaptation, and borrowing, this terminology has developed into a global linguistic layer that affects languages. The current study examines the comparative and formative aspects of Uzbek and English internet terminology. It investigates the linguistic processes—borrowing, derivation, compounding, and semantic extension—that go into the formation of online vocabulary. Additionally, it examines the differences between these processes in Uzbek and English, highlighting the sociolinguistic, cultural, and technological elements that influence terminology usage. According to the study, Uzbek exhibits an adaptive strategy through phonetic assimilation, hybridization, and partial translation, whereas English is the primary source of the majority of internet terms.
