The aim of the research is to reveal cultural specificity of precedent phenomena functioning in the British and Uzbek literary texts and create material for teaching them. The paper consists of three chapters where the following matters are dealt with: historical and cultural overview of precedent phenomena functioning and their types, the linguistic peculiarities of precedent phenomena, cross-cultural analysis of British and Uzbek precedent phenomena, special activities and experiment description.
