Metaphor in newspaper discourse in the light of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology

Having shifted the structural paradigm, the anthropocentric one has enabled to carry outcomplex investigationsstudying language from different angles, from the perspective of the human and his activities. In other words, the linguistic means arestudied on the basis of the assumptions of the modern trends such as Psycholinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Linguocognitive and Linguocultural Studies. Thus, the present article is aimed at revealing metaphors in newspaper discourse and their classification in the light of Cognitive linguistics and Linguoculturology.
