This course gives a brief introduction to logic, including the resolution method of theorem-proving and its relation to theprogramming language Prolog. Formal logic is used for specifying and verifying computer systems and (sometimes) forrepresenting knowledge in Artificial Intelligence programs.The course should help you to understand the Prolog language, and its treatment of logic should be helpful for un-derstanding other theoretical courses. Try to avoid getting bogged down in the details of how the various proof methodswork, since you must also acquire an intuitive feel for logical reasoning
