This article studies the theoretical and practical aspects of improving the corporate governance system in commercial banks based on modern trends. In particular, based on the experience of international financial institutions, the importance of digital technologies, ESG principles, compliance control and mechanisms for evaluating the activities of supervisory boards in improving corporate governance in the banking system of Uzbekistan is analyzed. During the study, problems aimed at improving the efficiency of corporate governance and ways to eliminate them are identified, and customized proposals for national banks are developed.
