This collection of chapters aims to accompany a lecture series in neurogenetics. It provides a framework for the discipline that seeks to analyze the relations between the genome,neurons, neural networks, and behavior. The selection of topics in this book aims to provide students with insights into developmental, cellular, and genetic mechanisms in neurobiology. A special emphasis is given to experimental animal model systems such as Caenorhabditis elegans, Drosophila melanogaster, and vertebrate models. Each chapter starts with an introduction and an overview of the lecture topic. It is followed by the main content, which includes both theoretical and technical experimental parts.
