This article is dedicated to the life and scientific heritage of the outstanding representative of the jurisprudence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Laws, Professor Gafur Abdumajidov. It covers the years of the scientist’s youth, his education, his many years of work in the prosecutor’s office and higher legal educational institutions. Gafur Abdumajidov’s scientific work, especially in the fields of criminal procedure law, criminology and constitutional law, is analyzed in depth. It is argued that the textbook “Criminology” written by the author and other methodological guides played an important role in the formation of the legal education system in Uzbekistan. The article also covers Abdumajidov’s academic titles, state awards, participation in constitutional reforms and his contribution to the formation of the foundations of a legal state. His great contribution to the training of legal personnel in our country through his scientific school and pedagogical activities is also analyzed separately. The article is of theoretical and practical importance for researchers studying the history of jurisprudence, students and employees of law enforcement agencies.
