This article presents an analysis and recommendations forimproving thesafety ofroad users at pedestrian crossings. Keywords:Pedestrian crossing, transport, pedestrian, road, trafficsafety, driver, region, trafficaccident. Analysis ofregulatory documents and scientific studies ontheplacement ofpedestrian пcrossings has shown that thedecisivefactor in theplacement of pedestrian crossings isthe road category, which will determinethe recommended distance between pedestrian crossings, their widthand type. Pedestrians cross theroad onaverage two tothree times during thejourney. Ensuring ease and safety ofmovement when crossing roads in theirmovement is oneofthe main tasks. Forthis reason, theproper design, construction andreconstruction of appropriate crosswalks shouldbe themain consideration when designing walking routes. Themostvulnerable category ofroad users is pedestrians, as evidenced bydata onroad accidents. The occurrence ofroad accidents is usually preceded byconflicts at pedestrian crossings, which are expressed indrivers ignoring therules for crossing pedestrian crossings, so thereare collisions "transport-pedestrian". Road accidents involvingpedestrians are mostcommon incities and localities, butthey have more serious consequences outsideof them. Forthe Mayor's office and traffic police, an important issueistheplacement of pedestrian attraction objects in themost optimalzone. Indicators that assess thequalityof traffic inretail outlets and ontheperiphery ofthemarket are bandwidth and speed. Capacity depends onmanyand various factors: road conditions, vehicle characteristics, quality oftraffic management, behaviorof road users, environmental conditions, etc. Theoverall effect ofthese factors can be determined onlybyexperimental observation ofthe traffic flowregime. Studies by many experts showthat thecapacity of urbantransport routes should correspond to theminimum allowablenumber ofpedestrian crossings and theirmosteffective arrangement to ensure pedestrian safety. Thisrequires sound recommendations for optimalplacement and arrangement of pedestrian https://ijmri.de/index.php/jmsi volume 4,issue5,2025 758 crosswalks. The main factors taken into account when placing apedestrian crossing are the intensityofpedestrian trafficand theproduction capacity ofobjects adjacent to retail outlets and markets. This does not takeinto account such factors as thewidth oftheroadway, traffic intensity, and the arrangement ofthe pedestrian crossing. Analysis oftraffic conditionsis usedto identify thecauses and conditions ofroad accidents at aparticular pedestrian crossing and develop measures to prevent them. It includes thefollowing stages: -assessment of thepresenceof serious obstacles totraffic andtheirimpact on road safety; -assessment of theavailability and compliance with thecurrent technical means oftraffic management required for thisscheme oftraffic management at apedestrian crossing in accordance with regulatory documents. To apply organizational andtechnical measures onthestreet-road network, it is necessary to knowtheirexpected effectiveness. There are two approaches to evaluating traffic efficiency: -based onthefinal results. -bythedegreeof achievement ofthe goal. Recommendations for placing pedestrian crosswalks are based on two goals: -thenumber ofconflicts between" vehicles andpedestrians"; -thespeed ofvehicles onmain streets. Thecondition forthefirst indicatoris adecrease in such collisions, and for thesecond indicator, an increase inthespeed of vehicles onmain streets. Taking intoaccount these goals and based ontheresults ofexperimental studies, recommendationscan be formulated as follows: thedistance between consecutive regulated pedestrian crossings should befrom 600 to900m, -main streets ofregulated traffic and havingregional significance for transport and pedestrians; -thedistance between theabove-ground pedestrian crossing andtheadjacent underground passagemust be setwithin 1000-1500m -main streets ofregulated transport and transport and pedestrian zonesof regional significance (pedestrian flowrateis 600-800 people/ hour, thedistance to apassenger transport stop isupto 130 meters). -thenearest distance toa publictransport stop andpedestrian crossing mustbe between 200and400meters -forregional streets (theroadway width is 7-14 m). However, thewidth ofthepedestrian crosswalk has thegreatest impact onthespeed oftraffic flow.If thewidth of thecrosswalk increases by1m ,thespeed oftrafficflow decreases byan average of2.5km/h. https://ijmri.de/index.php/jmsi volume 4,issue5,2025 759 figure1.Project ofan above-groundpedestrian crossing. Sincethereare many conflict situations at thepedestrian crossing in themarket area, the pedestrian crossing here should beabove ground. This means that conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians ontheroadway are virtually eliminated. Duetothefact that there are alarge number ofconflict situations at thepedestrian crossing near themarket, you can organizea pedestrian crossing h
