This article is devoted to the issues of using the EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment) methodology to assess and develop reading skills in the primary education system. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations of EGRA, its importance in determining the reading skills of primary school students, and practical methods of application. The article examines in detail the structure of EGRA tests, the procedure for conducting them, and methods for analyzing the results. It also provides practical recommendations for teachers and ways to effectively use EGRA. The results of the study show that the EGRA methodology is an important tool for identifying the individual needs of students and developing customized educational programs.
