Аннотация

This study focuses on the econometric modeling of key macroeconomic indicators that contribute to sustainable economic development in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objective is to identify and analyze the most influential economic factors—such as GDP growth, investment, inflation, employment, and trade—that drive long-term economic stability and prosperity. Utilizing modern econometric methods, including multiple linear regression and time-series analysis, the research examines the dynamic relationships among these indicators using national data from reputable sources such as the World Bank, IMF, and national statistics agencies. Keywords: Economic growth, Macroeconomic indicators, Linear regression model, Econometric analysis, Uzbekistan economy, Gross capital formation, Labor force, Inflation, Foreign direct investment (FDI), Trade and exports, Agricultural and industrial value added, Population growth, Real interest rate, Economic development. 1. Introduction Understanding the factors that drive economic development is critical for any country aiming to achieve sustainable growth. In the case of Uzbekistan, a nation undergoing significant economic transformation and modernization, identifying the key macroeconomic indicators that influence economic performance is especially important. Econometric methods provide powerful tools to quantify and analyze these relationships, offering valuable insights for policymakers and economists (Barro, 1996). Among econometric techniques, the linear regression model stands out as one of the most fundamental and widely used approaches for examining the relationship between economic variables. Its simplicity, interpretability, and robustness make it 201 SCIENCE SHINE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL Issue 10(45), Volume 1 | ISSN 3030-377X | 20.05.2025 particularly suitable for analyzing how macroeconomic indicators—such as labor force participation, investment levels, inflation rates, foreign direct investment, and trade flows—impact Uzbekistan’s economic development (Gujarati & Porter, 2009; Wooldridge, 2015). Linear regression allows researchers to express the dependent variable, often a measure of economic growth such as GDP per capita or GDP growth rate, as a linear function of one or more explanatory variables. This approach helps in isolating the effect of each macroeconomic indicator on economic growth, providing clear and actionable results. Moreover, linear regression models are relatively straightforward to estimate and interpret, which makes them ideal for informing economic policy in a transparent and accessible manner. The importance of applying a linear regression model in the context of Uzbekistan’s economy also stems from data availability and quality. The country’s statistical agencies, along with international organizations like the World Bank and IMF, provide comprehensive and consistent time-series and cross-sectional data on a variety of macroeconomic variables(IMF, 2023; World Bank, 2023). This rich dataset enables the construction of linear models that can capture key dynamics and trends shaping economic development (UNDP Uzbekistan, 2022; OECD, 2001). Using linear regression, policymakers can evaluate the significance and magnitude of each macroeconomic factor, assess their combined effect on economic growth, and forecast future outcomes under different policy scenarios. For instance, understanding how changes in investment or labor force participation rates influence GDP growth helps design targeted interventions to promote sustainable development. While more complex models can capture nonlinearities and dynamic relationships, the linear regression model remains a solid foundation for initial analysis and policy formulation. It offers a clear framework to test hypotheses about economic relationships and provides baseline estimates that can guide further research and policymaking. 2. Research Methodology This study employs a quantitative research design using econometric analysis to investigate the impact of selected macroeconomic indicators on the sustainable economic development of Uzbekistan. The primary method is multiple linear regression modeling, which allows for examining the relationship between a dependent variable—typically GDP per capita or GDP growth rate—and a set of independent macroeconomic variables (Gujarati & Porter, 2009; Wooldridge, 2015). The analysis is based on secondary data collected from reputable sources, including 202 SCIENCE SHINE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL Issue 10(45), Volume 1 | ISSN 3030-377X | 20.05.2025 the World Bank’s World Development Indicators (WDI), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics. The data covers the period from 2011 to 2023 (or other relevant years depending on availability), ensuring sufficient time series observations for robust econometric modeling. Key macroeconomic indicators considered as independent variables include
