This article examines the psychological mechanisms and patterns of personal changes in indirect witnesses of an extreme macrosocial event. An empirical study of the intensity and extensiveness of personal changes in indirect witnesses of an extreme macrosocial event is described, determined by the personal meaning of this event, and appropriate conclusions are drawn.
