CHANGES IN UZBEK CLOTHING: INTERLOADING THE THREAD OF TRADITION AND FASHION (XX - EARLY XXI centuries)

The article describes the mechanism for fixing fashion in clothing. Examples show three directions of her fashion dissemination among Uzbeks. One of the horizontal ones: the movement of fashion innovations through key indicators. The second is top-down, such as trickle-down fashion from the affluent to vertical opportunities. The third is gradually upward, when certain elements of Uzbek clothing were adopted by Russians and other non-Muslim peoples, and the vertical diffusion of fashion in independent Uzbekistan gradually increased with the revival of Uzbek folk clothing.
