This paper presents review of pathogenesis of gingival diseases and its various dependence on systematic pathology processes, such as osteoporosis. The traditional treatment of generalized periodontitis is reduced to the elimination of inflammation in the periodontium by eliminating local irritating factors and use as part of local and general therapy with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, immunomodulating, vitamin preparations, and much less often it supplemented with agents specifically stimulating metabolic processes in the periorbital tissues
