This article consists of an analysis of the purpose and nature of engineering and geodetic surveys when detecting deformation of dams in large reservoirs, the types and causes of subsidence and displacement of dams, monitoring the deformation of hydraulic structures.Engineering structures built on the basis of the project change their position after some time, that is, for various reasons, the weight of the structure may shift from its previous position, fall due to changes in weather, earthquakes, and so on.The movement of dams can be predicted by detecting deformation, displacement and subsidence of dams in large reservoirs using high-precision geodetic studies.
