Аннотация

This article discusses the etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region. In general clinical practice, purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region in terms of frequency of occurrence (from 40% to 60%) occupy one of the main places and pay special attention to surgeons and dentists (T.A. Gvozdenko., O.Yu. Kytikova., T .I. Vitkina ., 2013). This is mainly due to the risk of developing severe complications, such as facial vein thrombosis, sepsis, mediastinitis and sinuses of the brain (B.R. Gelfanda., 2016). Significant etiological factors leading to the development of purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region are odontogenic and periodontal diseases (V.A. Monakov, A.L. Saveliev., 2014; E.N. Kirichenko, E.V. Eliseeva, A. .Ya. Sarkisov., 2015). It is also necessary to pay attention to such sources of infection as otogenic, airy sinuses, tonsillar-pharyngeal and other sources.
