ANFAVORABLE EFFECT OF THE FILLING MATERIAL ON THE PERIAPICAL TISSUES, WHEN MIGRATING BEYOND THE ROOT APEX

One of the most urgent and significant problems of modern dentistry is the quality of the root canal obturation during endodontic treatment. When obturating the root canals, it is possible to migration the filling material beyond the root apex, which can be migrated not only into the apical periodontal tissues, but also into anatomical structures located near to roots. These anatomical formations include the maxillary sinus and the mandibular canal. The response of the tissues surrounding the apex of the tooth (periodontium) to the ingress of a foreign body may be accompanied by an inflammatory reaction. The nature of the body's response depends on the chemical composition of the filling material, its quantity, as well as on the anatomical structure into which the filling material is migrated. This is due, on the one hand, to the mechanical effect on the tissues, leading to compression and depends on the amount of material migrated. On the other hand, this is due to the chemical effect caused by the toxic effect of certain components of the filling material (siller) on the periodontium. Thus, it becomes clear that the reaction of the periapical tissues depends primarily on the chemical composition of the filling material. The article presents a clinical case with the migration of filling material into the mandibular canal with slight compression on the neurovascular bundle.
